The rebuilding program faces a critical challenge in the case of Tacloban, a most affected city in the path of Typhoon Haiyan. Tacloban City shall be made a starting point for demonstrating a most effective way of rebuilding, utilizing the best ideas that incorporate the concept of resilience. In line with this premise, LEAPFROG PROJECT: Help Tacloban rise with new-found resilience (LEAPFROG PROJECT) was conceptualized and now organized to respond to the call of rebuilding. It rallies a number of local and international partners to collaborate and team up for the noble mission of helping Tacloban rebuild with resilience and serve as model of post-disaster reconstruction to the rest of the country and perhaps, the world.

Butterfly House Project

Butterfly House Project

by Butterfly Homes

The Butterfly house is a new, innovative steel-framed housing structure that can be folded for compact shipping and storage, and unfolded into an immediately livable structure. The Butterfly house solution can address the gap of a scalable low-cost yet high-quality interim shelter solution for displaced families. The design fundamentals of the Butterfly house are based on being proactive, reactive and comfortable, all of which we were inspired by both the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan and the apparent need for a more innovative approach to immediately housing millions.
